At Axeler8 Academy, our goal is to provide a professional, positive, safe, and supportive environment where athletes can develop their skating skills, confidence, performance abilities, and overall athletic development. By registering for any Axeler8 Academy program, the athlete and parent/guardian acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to the following Policies & Procedures.
1. REGISTRATION
Registration is required for all Axeler8 Academy classes, camps, workshops, seminars, private lessons, and programs.
Registration is confirmed once the required registration information has been completed and payment has been received.
Class spaces are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Axeler8 Academy reserves the right to close registration once a program reaches capacity. If a class or program is full, please email info@axeler8academy.com to be added to the waitlist or to inquire about additional availability.
2. PAYMENT
All program fees must be paid according to the payment terms outlined at the time of registration.
Registration is not considered complete until all required payments have been received.
Any outstanding balance may result in the athlete being unable to participate in classes, camps, workshops, or other programs until the account is brought up to date.
If payment is not received within one week of registration, Axeler8 Academy reserves the right to cancel the registration and release the athlete’s spot to another participant.
3. NO REFUND & MISSED CLASS POLICY
All registrations are final and non-refundable. No refunds, credits, or make-up classes will be provided for missed classes or withdrawals, regardless of the reason, including illness, injury, vacation, competitions, tournaments, appointments, schedule conflicts, transportation issues, or change of plans.
Athletes are responsible for attending their scheduled classes on time. Late arrivals will not be given additional time or the opportunity to make up missed class time in another class.
Registration and program fees are non-transferable to another athlete or class unless specifically approved by Axeler8 Academy.
By completing registration, families acknowledge and agree to this policy.
4. PROGRAM CHANGES & SCHEDULE POLICY
Axeler8 Academy may make reasonable changes to coaches, schedules, class descriptions, facilities, or programmingwhen necessary. Classes require a minimum number of registered athletes to operate, and the Academy reserves the right to cancel, combine, modify, or reschedule classes due to enrolment, facility needs, coaching availability, or other operational requirements.
Program information and schedules are subject to change. Axeler8 Academy will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes to registered families.
5. ATHLETE EXPECTATIONS & ARRIVAL POLICY
Athletes should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled class time to allow enough time to check in, get prepared, and be ready to participate when class begins. Athletes should not be dropped off more than 10 minutes before their scheduled class unless otherwise arranged with Axeler8 Academy.
Athletes are expected to:

Arrive on time and prepared for class.

Have hair neatly tied back and secured.

Wear appropriate training gear and have all required equipment ready.

Bring clean indoor running shoes suitable for training.

Listen to and follow coaching instructions.

Treat coaches, staff, and other athletes respectfully.

Follow all safety rules.
-
Participate appropriately and use respectful language and behaviour.

Respect Academy property and equipment.

Report injuries or safety concerns to a coach or staff member.
Late arrival may result in the athlete missing part of the instruction. As Axeler8 Academy does not provide make-up classes, credits, or refunds for missed time, families are responsible for ensuring athletes arrive on time and attend their scheduled classes.
Disrespectful, disruptive, aggressive, threatening, or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from a class or program.
6. PARENT & GUARDIAN EXPECTATIONS
Axeler8 Academy is a drop-off program.
Parents/guardians are not permitted to remain in or enter the Academy during regular classes, camps, workshops, or programs, unless otherwise communicated by Axeler8 Academy or a designated Open House or special event is taking place.
Parents/guardians are responsible for:

Dropping athletes off 10 minutes before their scheduled class or program.

Picking athletes up promptly at the end of their scheduled class or program.

Remaining reachable by phone while their athlete is participating in the program.

Informing Axeler8 Academy of any medical, behavioural, or other information that may affect the athlete’s participation.

Communicating questions or concerns directly and respectfully with Academy management.

Following all Academy policies and drop-off/pick-up procedures.
7. COACHING
Axeler8 Academy coaches are selected based on their experience, qualifications, knowledge, and ability to support athlete development.
Coaches may provide instruction, demonstrations, corrections, feedback, and recommendations to help athletes progress.
Athletes are expected to listen to and follow reasonable coaching instructions.
Parents/guardians are asked to allow coaches to conduct classes without unnecessary interruption.
8. HEALTH & SAFETY
Safety is a priority at Axeler8 Academy. Athletes must follow all Academy, coach, and facility safety instructions and use equipment appropriately.
Athletes should not attend programs when experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness that could reasonably put other athletes or staff at risk. If an athlete becomes ill during a program, Axeler8 Academy may require them to leave the facility and will contact their parent/guardian.
If an athlete is injured or becomes unwell, Axeler8 Academy may contact the parent/guardian. In an emergency, appropriate emergency services may be contacted.
Axeler8 Academy reserves the right to stop an athlete’s participation if there is a health or safety concern.
Missed classes due to illness or injury are not eligible for refunds, credits, or make-up classes.
9. PERSONAL BELONGINGS & LOCKERS
Athletes are responsible for their personal belongings and equipment.
Axeler8 Academy is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
Families are encouraged to clearly label all personal equipment, clothing, and other belongings.
Lockers will be available for purchase beginning in September 2026. Additional information regarding locker availability, pricing, and use will be provided by Axeler8 Academy.
Lockers are optional and subject to availability. Locker purchases do not transfer ownership of the locker or facility space to the athlete or family.
10. RESPECT, COMMUNITY, CONDUCT & COMMUNICATION
Axeler8 Academy is committed to a respectful, welcoming, and positive environment for all athletes, families, coaches, and staff. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, threats, aggression, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Athletes and families are expected to communicate respectfully with coaches, staff, athletes, and other families, with concerns directed to Academy management.
To protect our community, solicitation or recruitment of Axeler8 Academy athletes or coaches for outside programs, teams, clubs, businesses, lessons, services, or organizations is not permitted without prior approval from Academy management. This includes recruiting athletes or coaches, promoting outside or competing programs, distributing promotional materials, or using Academy contact information to solicit athletes, families, or coaches.
Official Academy communication will be provided through email, the website, registration system, or other designated channels. Families are responsible for keeping their contact information up to date.
These guidelines help maintain a professional, respectful, and positive environment for the entire Axeler8 Academy community.
11. WEATHER & FACILITY CLOSURES
Classes may occasionally be cancelled or modified due to severe weather, facility issues, emergencies, or circumstances beyond the Academy's control.
Axeler8 Academy will communicate closures or significant schedule changes as soon as reasonably possible.
12. CAMPS, PA DAYS & SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Axeler8 Academy may offer PA Day camps, holiday camps, workshops, seminars, and other special programs. These programs may have additional rules or requirements that will be communicated during registration.
Unless otherwise stated in writing by Axeler8 Academy, the no-refund and no-make-up policies apply to all camps and special programs.
Drop-off and pick-up procedures may vary for camps and special programs and will be communicated to families in advance.
13. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO
Axeler8 Academy may photograph or record athletes during classes, camps, workshops, events, or other Academy activities for promotional, educational, and social-media purposes.
Parents/guardians may contact Axeler8 Academy with questions regarding photography or video use.
14. PRIVACY
Axeler8 Academy collects personal information necessary to administer registration, communicate with families, operate programs, maintain participant records, and provide appropriate services.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
Families are responsible for providing accurate and current registration information.
15. POLICY VIOLATIONS & UPDATES
Axeler8 Academy reserves the right to take appropriate action when an athlete, parent/guardian, or participant does not follow Academy policies. Depending on the circumstances, action may include a verbal or written warning, parent/guardian meeting, removal from a class, suspension from a program, cancellation of registration, or removal from the Academy. Serious safety concerns, threatening, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate behaviour may result in immediate action.
Axeler8 Academy may update these Policies & Procedures from time to time. Updated policies may be posted on the Academy website or communicated directly to registered families. The most current version published by Axeler8 Academy will apply to future participation.
